The investigation workflow

Every real investigation — whether you're looking into the JFK assassination, the 2026 Iran war, a local zoning-corruption story, a missing-persons case, or something more personal — goes through the same steps:

1. Collection. You gather primary material — videos, documents, screenshots, witness accounts, articles. The material is scattered across platforms and will not stay there indefinitely.
2. Organization. You sort what you have into the specific arguments or questions the investigation is trying to resolve.
3. Evaluation. You assess the credibility of each source. Not all evidence is equal.
4. Presentation. You communicate the case — to yourself, to a partner, to a broader audience — in a form that makes the argument visible.

Most iPhone apps handle one or two of these steps. Classified is built for all four.

Features

Save from anywhere. From TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, Substack, or any browser — tap Share → Classified. The media is saved locally to your iPhone with its source URL, creator attribution, timestamp, and any caption text.

Case-based structure. Your investigations are organized as cases. Each case contains arguments. Each argument is supported by evidence — videos, screenshots, notes, links. Drag to reorder. Rename anytime.

Credibility ratings. Mark each piece of evidence Strong, Interesting, or Weak. Your case always shows which arguments rest on strong sources and which don't. Anyone you present to sees the same.

Present mode. A full-screen presentation flow that swipes through your arguments one at a time, playing videos inline. Designed for the moment someone asks "wait, what is this about?"

Local-first privacy. No account. No cloud. No tracking. Your cases are on your device only. For investigations where the subject is sensitive — the topic, the people involved, or your own exposure — this matters.

Why iPhone

Classified is iPhone-only. That's deliberate. The share extension integration with iOS is what makes the saving workflow fast enough to use during active research. A cross-platform version would require either cloud sync (breaks privacy) or a worse share-extension model on other platforms. We chose to do one platform well rather than compromise on either.

Free to download. All core features are free: saving videos, creating cases, organizing arguments, rating credibility, Present mode, all platforms. Optional Pro subscription unlocks unlimited cases (free tier includes several), advanced export formats, and priority support. No ads. No data sales. The business model is app-purchase, not surveillance.
